Powerkuff LLC is a Delaware company, which is manufacturing consumer installed electric power monitoring systems. The information based interactive system will save the consumer 20% off their electric bill. The patented technology may be installed on any of the 200 million electric services nationwide without special licenses or tools. The Powerkuff Monitor may be installed by the home owner as a consumer awareness tool or the commercial building operator to monitor each and every circuit and appliance individually. The information gathered can report to the owner or auditing service on the web. Managing electric use will require a new generation of interactive tools to integrate the rigid metering of power with digital world and wireless technology. This technology must retrofit 600 million existing electric services worldwide, be inexpensive and capable of expanding into the future. Powerkuff has this technology after 22 years of energy monitoring innovation in the unique power monitoring field of superposition. Superposition is the placement of a sensing iron core on any wire and calculating the power that is flowing in that wire, without separating the two wires. All other monitoring devices use transformers, which require the separation of wires, shunts which are directly connected to the wire or optical devices which watch the electric meter wheel turn. Powerkuff has combined superposition with recently developed (FCC approved, public domain) wireless chip technology to create the Powerkuff Monitor System. The company has secured the patent rights to the technology which allows the residential and commercial consumer to install (without tools, special skills or license) a system, which enables them to observe, control and reduce their electric consumption. The system also allows them to accumulate data from the entire house and individual appliances. This unique simplification of the power monitoring and control of electrical power will allow inexpensive installation of a sophisticated monitoring system in all buildings and a web based tracking and control system. This system will allow the harvesting of power generating capacity heretofore wasted in off-peak power. The educational goal is to create a new consumer mindset by giving them the tools to understand and gain control of power consumption and reward them instantly for proper electric power management and conservation. Or alternatively provide a service which will monitor that power and effect change by reporting inefficient use and controlling it.

The Powerkuff Monitor System consists of a Powerkuff Signal Generator and a Powerkuff Display Unit.  The Powerkuff Signal Generator installs like a wristwatch on the wire that enters the house or small business or the two main wires in the circuit breaker box. The signal generator reports wireless (50 ft. range indoor), to the portable Powerkuff Display Unit that shows the amount of power entering the home or business. Once the Powerkuff monitor is installed the consumer achieves a new sense of control; just as a speedometer and tachometer governs our behavior in a car.
       
The Powerkuff Monitor System range and function may be expanded by boosting and calibrating the signal with a plug in Powerkuff Signal Booster with 1 GB storage capacity and, calibration module. (50 ft. range)

Powernome Software once installed on the PC will display and analyze electric consumption data stored in the Powerkuff Booster and send alarms or notifications from the computer.



Appliance Sensors (white cube) will be sold separately. Each appliance sensor is wrapped on the wire feeding the appliance (120 or 240 volt). These non-invasive monitors will communicate with the Powerkuff display unit by way of the booster.  Powerkuff Monitor is not a revenue metering system for billing purposes, but may be used in conjunction with other meters and auditing tools. Powerkuff Monitor System will link with your home computer using the Powerkuff  booster module and the Powernome software to name the remote appliance sensor by the type of appliance it monitors and display a graphic representation of the appliance's power use (up to 16 appliances simultaneously). The software will also display the facilities power profile, and on and off peak power profile from the utility in graphic form for the time frame requested.

Powerkuff Monitoring Service for home and small business will be a monthly subscription internet auditing service. The subscribers will receive easy to understand reports on their energy use, appliance performance and conservation efforts.
